After Rebecca Flint's rise to fame, girls watched her videos and thought "OH MY GOD!!! I CAN BE FAMOUS! IN JAPAN! AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE TO HAVE TALENT!"
And so followed a million dance videos, none of which interested anyone. And so, they moved onto the next trend. Beckii Cruel herself? She seems nice enough. Okay, she can't sing, she can't speak Japanese, she can't dance and she's not that cute... But there must have been something there?
I take that back. This girl can dance.
I guess it makes sense, considering she took ballet for a number of years, but Beckii Cruel has GREAT musicality. Her actual skills? I don't know. The "Danjo" dance itself is very... Boring. Repetitive. Not pretty. Her music videos just have her waving her arms and calling it dancing.
But the musicality is there. I don't know how much it counts for, but she has at least some skill.
Secondly, the video is very low quality. You can't see her face, just the body of a girl in cute clothes with cute hair. That's an idol, isn't it?
Mainly though, I think Rebecca Flint was just lucky. She was in the right place at the right time with the right viral dance and the right sort of skillset. That kind of luck does not come to everybody. YouTube dancers died down once they realised they weren't going to become net idols, and the world has since forgotten about Rebecca Flint, although she still does have a YouTube channel. Don't waste your time with that though.
Oishii Project
Oishii project never got off the ground. By the time it came around, the world had moved on. But this video still remains, for you to make your own opinions on.
